  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pampushki with garlic? First, prepare the products, they should all be at room temperature. Wash the eggs thoroughly, wash and dry the dill, peel the garlic. Please note that you may need more or less flour than I did - so be guided by the consistency of the dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Set aside the ingredients for preparing the dough. As you can see, I use fresh yeast, but you can replace it with dry yeast. I have 21 grams of fresh, so I will need 7 grams of dry.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Crumble fresh yeast into a bowl, add sugar, grind, pour in warm water and milk, stir in a spoonful of flour. Leave to rise for 30 minutes in a warm place. As soon as a foamy “cap” appears, the dough is ready. If there is no foam, the yeast needs to be replaced, it is inactive (always check the expiration date and use only fresh ones).

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the dough is rising, prepare the garlic sauce so that it has time to brew. To do this, finely chop the washed and dried dill, add salt (1 tsp or to taste), and crushed garlic through a press. Stir the mixture, then pour vegetable oil into it. And leave it to steep.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sift the flour into a deep bowl, add salt, stir, and make a well in the center. Break the eggs into a bowl, stir and pour 2/3 of the egg mixture into flour, and leave 1/3 for greasing the finished donuts. Add the risen dough to the flour and knead the dough with a spoon. At the end of the kneading, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and start kneading with your hands, gradually adding the remaining oil. Dust the table with flour and knead the dough for 7-10 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The dough will become smooth and will not stick to your hands. Round it and place it in a clean, lightly oiled bowl. Cover with cling film and a napkin, leave in a warm place to rise for an hour.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The dough rises well, increasing almost 2.5 times. Lightly grease the table and hands with vegetable oil. Shape the dough into a loaf and divide into 15-16 parts, 50-55g each. I made several pieces of 60 g each and they seemed big to me.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Form donuts by rounding the dough. Place them on a greased baking sheet or parchment paper or baking mat. Cover with film and leave to proof for 30 minutes. The donuts will rise a lot, leave some space between them. Add a teaspoon of milk to the reserved egg and grease the donuts carefully so as not to upset them. Let the grease dry for 1-2 minutes, then the baked goods will have a beautiful shine.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Bake Ukrainian pampushki with yeast in a preheated oven at 190 degrees for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Determine the exact temperature and baking time based on your oven. Grease hot donuts with garlic filling using a silicone brush.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Serve the garlic dumplings hot with the borscht. Bon appetit!

Finally, I made these Ukrainian dumplings with garlic for borscht in the oven using yeast! I saved this recipe in KK for a long time, but I just couldn’t cook it. I made it with half the ingredients suggested by the author. I made 50 grams of donuts. They turned out to be just the right size. It was a pleasure to make these donuts using this recipe; everything is very accessible and clearly written. Added a little more flour. The donuts turned out great!!! Soft, tasty, and so aromatic, thanks to the excellent garlic filling. Svetlana, thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. I have long wanted to learn how to make these Ukrainian dumplings with garlic. I’m from Ukraine, and here we often serve such donuts with borscht))) Here’s what my donuts turned out like

Hi all! I tried to make donuts for the first time. They turned out delicious. I brushed them with sugar syrup on top (sugar was dissolved in boiled water) and the crust turned out to be sweetish, apparently I went too far with sugar, but they were browned. When I took them out of the oven, I greased them with finely grated garlic and mixed with vegetable oil. The aroma was throughout the whole house. Thanks for the recipe.

Excellent donuts! If I had a bread machine, I didn’t bother with the dough, I folded everything according to the recipe and kneaded the dough. It floated a little, but I baked it and was very pleased! Thanks for the recipe!
