Tomatoes in gelatin with onions without sterilization

A great addition to any winter side dish! All our relatives and friends love this preparation very much. Another big advantage of this recipe for us is that it takes a lot of tomatoes per jar, which allows us to realize the harvest faster.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients for our preparation.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the onion into rings, if the onion is large - into half rings.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place a layer of onion on the bottom of sterilized jars (I have 0.9 liter jars). We cut each tomato in half (if it is very large, then into 4 parts) and carefully place it in a jar. We try to take up as much space as possible in the jar. In the middle of the jar we again place a layer of onion, as well as parsley leaves.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Before the last layer of tomatoes, add a heaping tablespoon of gelatin.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

We fill the jar with chopped tomatoes to the end, on top with onion rings.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Prepare the marinade. Bring the water with all the spices to a boil. Usually, 1 liter of marinade is enough for 3 jars of 0.9 liters each.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Fill the jars with hot marinade. To sterilize, place a thick towel on the bottom of a large saucepan, pour in water, and heat to 90 degrees. We put the jars to sterilize for 15 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Take out the jars and screw on the lids. Turn it upside down and wrap it up overnight. Store in a cool place so that the gelatin hardens. Good luck with your preparations!

I’ve already tried it (only the recipe is a little different), if I get some tomatoes, I’ll follow this recipe. Yulechka is glad to see your recipe! Well, what are your impressions.... in winter, when the jars will open.

I spun three jars today, it’s very interesting to try what happens. Only 1 liter of marinade was not enough for me, I had to urgently add more. Thanks for the recipe. It's always interesting to do something new.

This was my first time making a batch with gelatin. And I tried to make sure there was more jelly in the jar. I really liked the taste of this particular jelly, I would just eat it like that. It is so sweet and sour, spicy, refreshing. Well, this is for those who like to drink brines and marinades, of course. Thank you, I really liked the recipe!
