Stuffed cabbage rolls in the oven in tomato sour cream sauce

STEP 1
How to make cabbage rolls in the oven? Prepare your ingredients. I have savoy cabbage, but you can use white cabbage - this is what is used in the classic recipe. You can make the minced meat yourself or buy it ready-made in the store. Any minced meat will do. Peel the onions, carrots and cabbage, wash and dry.
STEP 2
Grind the peeled onions in a blender or chop finely. Rinse the rice in running water, then boil it in salted water. Place the rice in a sieve. In a bowl, combine onion, rice, minced meat, spices, salt to taste and mix everything well.
STEP 3
I had a not very dense head of cabbage, I took it apart into leaves and blanched them in boiling water. If the head of cabbage is dense, then lower it into boiling salted water, after cutting out the stalk. Remove the cabbage leaves as they soften. Let the leaves cool.
STEP 4
Carefully cut off the thickening at the base of each cabbage leaf. Straighten the sheet and place the minced meat filling on it.
STEP 5
Roll the cabbage roll into a neat envelope. Roll all the other cabbage rolls in the same way.
STEP 6
Transfer the rolled cabbage rolls to a baking dish. Place them tightly together and seam side down.
STEP 7
Prepare the ingredients for the sauce.
STEP 8
Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 9
Fry the onions and carrots in a frying pan with vegetable oil until half cooked. Stir the frying.
STEP 10
Add tomato paste to it, stir. Keep on fire for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 11
Add sour cream to the sauce.
STEP 12
Pour the sauce with water (approximately 250-300 ml), stir. Salt, add finely chopped herbs, spices, bay leaf. Bring the sauce to a boil, let simmer for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 13
Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls in the mold. Cover the pan with foil and bake the dish at 200 degrees for about 40 minutes. Keep in mind that cooking time depends only on the features of your oven.
