  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to stew potatoes and meat in a slow cooker? Prepare the products according to the list. Wash the vegetables and dry with paper towels. Peel the skins from the onion. Instead of tomato paste, you can use tomatoes in their own juice or fresh ones, crushed in a blender until smooth. Also choose any dry spices according to your taste. You will learn all the intricacies of cooking in a slow cooker by reading a separate article on this topic at the link at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the meat well with cold water and then dry with paper towels. Cut off any excess if necessary. Then cut the meat into medium pieces, about 3 cm. Trim off excess fat too.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Set the multicooker to frying mode. I have an older model, so I use the baking mode. I set it to 20 minutes. You focus on your technique. Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Wait about 3-5 minutes for the oil to warm up. Then place the chopped meat into the bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Fry the meat with the lid open for about 3-5 minutes, turning the pieces so that it is cooked on all sides. This way we seal the meat juice inside and the meat remains soft.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

While the meat is roasting, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onions and carrots. Cut the onion into cubes, grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add the chopped vegetables to the meat when it completely changes color. Continue frying, but with the lid closed.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Meanwhile, wash and peel the potatoes. Then cut it into cubes the same size as the meat.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

When the frying program is finished, add tomato paste to the multicooker bowl.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Next, place the potatoes in the slow cooker. Salt, pepper, mix everything well. Pour hot water over the meat and potatoes. We do this so that the cooking process is not interrupted, because cold water can make the meat tough. Water must be poured so that it almost covers the meat, but not completely, otherwise the finished roast will turn out liquid.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add a bay leaf to the stew. Set the multicooker to stewing mode. I set it to 1.5 hours. Your cooking time and mode may be different; be guided by the operating features of your equipment. After completing the program, you can leave the multicooker in the heating mode so that the meat is additionally cooked, so it will be even tastier. Bon appetit!

I liked the recipe for its practicality. I love all two-in-one dishes, both the side dish and the meat are cooked right away. Another cool option is stewed potatoes with various vegetables. So delicious you don't even need meat!

After trying this dish I felt like I was in a good restaurant/cafe. The meat is soft, simply divine (I have pork tenderloin), the potatoes are juicy (I have Belarusian). Instead of regular salt, I added Adyghe salt to the dish; it is already seasoned and I often use it when preparing first and second courses. I also added some dry red pepper, a mixture of crushed peppers from the Kotanyi brand. It turned out very tasty. Now I will make it with different types of meat. Thank you very much to the author for the simplicity of the recipe and such deliciousness.

I added black pepper, bay leaf, dry paprika, and for the meat I used already chopped goulash. The result was carrots that looked like baked pumpkin, spicy potatoes that melted on your tongue, the meat was the best pork in recent years, easily disintegrated into fibers, and juicy. After eating, there was a feeling of warmth in the stomach for another half hour. It also smells great! And I cooked this for the first time in a new multicooker from Tefal, I chose it well

A good dish, I really liked it, especially my wife (well, obviously she doesn’t need to cook). No, it’s very tasty, an excellent appetizer for men. It turns out like a roast in a pot, I added a teaspoon of khmeli-suneli to the recipe, a teaspoon of seasoning for potato dishes. I cooked it in an old Panasonic SR-TMJ181, two hours - stewing, I think one and a half would be enough... Thank you!

I cooked it in a Redmond slow cooker. The meat turned out very soft. The potatoes were very tender and were not overcooked. The dish is very tasty and nutritious, while 100 grams contains only 145 kcal. Everything is great, I will cook more often. Thanks for the recipe
