  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to stew cucumbers and tomatoes in a frying pan? Prepare all the products indicated in the recipe. You can use regular and long salad cucumbers. The amount of any of the components can be increased or decreased to taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the peel off the cucumbers. Peel the onions and garlic. Rinse everything under running cold water and dry with paper towels to remove excess water.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Chop the onion into quarter rings or small cubes, as you prefer. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Send the onions to fry. Cook over high heat, stirring occasionally until desired degree of browning is achieved. You can simmer the onion until translucent or leave it in the pan until golden brown.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the cucumbers into rings or half rings about 0.5 cm thick. Do not cut the cucumbers too thin, otherwise during the cooking process they will spread into a shapeless mass, which will spoil the taste and appearance of the finished dish.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add the cucumbers to the onions.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Next add tomato paste. At this stage, you can use pureed tomatoes, tomato sauce or ketchup instead of paste.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Pour in a small amount of water. Mix everything well. After boiling, reduce the flame under the frying pan to slightly below medium and simmer the cucumbers under a closed lid for 15-20 minutes. After a while, open the lid and stir the cucumbers.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pass the garlic through a press or chop it by hand with a sharp knife as finely as possible. Add garlic to the pan. Salt everything to taste and season with your favorite spices. Simmer with the lid open for another 5 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

At the end of cooking, sprinkle the finished dish with chopped herbs and mix everything. Remove the pan from the heat and let the dish sit for about 5 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Stewed cucumbers are ready. They can be served immediately hot, sprinkled with hot or allspice if desired. On hot summer days, this dish will serve as an excellent chilled snack.

I love interesting and unusual recipes) This time I accidentally came across a recipe for stewed cucumbers and, of course, immediately prepared this dish. I’ve fried cucumbers before, so I wasn’t really worried that it would turn out bad. I know the approximate taste) For this dish, I took a large onion and cut it into thin half rings, I like it when there is a lot of onion. In addition, I fried it until golden brown, and then added the prepared cucumbers. I used homemade ketchup instead of tomato paste, so I used more of it. I wanted to introduce the garlic into the dish right away so that the cucumbers and gravy would have time to become more saturated with flavor. Chili is too hot for me, I added black pepper and paprika, as well as dried dill. But I sprinkled the finished dish with fresh dill and parsley. In my opinion, it turned out to be a simply gorgeous dish! I loved the stewed cucumbers so much! They retained their shape and even crunched slightly. I really liked the tomato sauce. In general, the dish is aromatic, slightly spicy and very pleasant to the taste. I only had time to try it, and while I was distracted, my husband had already eaten everything, and my daughter was soaking the gravy with bread) My husband said it looked like zucchini. I’ll have to cook it again, but I’ll just need to make a larger portion)
