  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to steam pink salmon? Prepare the ingredients. It is not necessary to take pink salmon fillets - you can also use fish steaks, but it is preferable for the pink salmon to be chilled. If you only have frozen pink salmon, then the main thing is to defrost it correctly. First place frozen fish in the refrigerator for 5-7 hours, and then defrost at room temperature.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the pink salmon well and pat dry with paper napkins so that the fish does not turn out watery. If necessary, cut into pieces of the desired size. Although pink salmon does not belong to the noble varieties of fish, we will prepare it in such a way that its taste will not be inferior to more elite types of fish.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

We only need lemon juice. Therefore, it is quite possible to use ready-made lemon juice in factory packaging. If you squeeze juice directly from citrus, then wash it well with hot water first - this way the fruit will release much more juice.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Salt the fish a little. Do not overdo it with salt - after all, we are preparing a healthy steamed dish!

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Prepare a steamer or slow cooker where you will cook. Prepare a bowl, pour 250 ml of water into it and the stand itself for laying out the food. I cook fish in a slow cooker in the Steam mode.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the fish pieces skin side down on the rack. Pepper it a little. You can also add your favorite herbs or seasonings now: for example, fresh thyme and rosemary will be nice if you like them. Or maybe you can add dry Provençal herbs or garlic powder.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the stand on the bowl of water. Cook in Steam mode. The cooking time depends on the thickness of the fish pieces, but in any case, the fish cooks quickly enough and you can safely set the time to 25 minutes - and you won’t be mistaken, during this time the fish will definitely have time to cook!

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Serve the fish immediately when it is hot. Bon appetit!

What could be healthier than steamed food? And in terms of taste, it is in no way inferior to fried dishes. Today I cooked steamed pink salmon for dinner. I had a whole carcass, I butchered it and cut it into pieces, about 1-1.5 centimeters. Added lemon juice and a little salt. I seasoned the fish pieces with dry basil on top. I poured 300 milliliters of water into the pan and placed a bowl of pink salmon on top. Cooked for approximately 35 minutes. The fish turned out soft, juicy and flavorful. This dish is suitable not only for adults and children, but also for people who adhere to proper nutrition. And you can serve mashed potatoes as a side dish.
