STEP 1
How to cook delicious simple homemade hodgepodge? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. In addition to sausages, you can use other smoked products: sausage, ham, etc. You can replace pickled cucumbers with pickled ones, and olives with black olives.

Peel the sausages from the factory film and cut into circles. You can use any sausage for this dish. But it is worth considering that they can greatly affect the final taste of the dish. For example, if you take sausages with a pronounced smoked taste, then the whole dish will also have a slight smoked taste. If you want a neutral flavor, use regular sausages, such as milk or butter.

Peel the potatoes and cut into medium cubes.

Cut the gherkins into slices. You can replace the gherkins with regular-sized pickled cucumbers.

Transfer the sausages to the pan. Next add gherkins, olives, lemon slices, bay leaves and spices. If desired, add a little brine from olives or cucumbers. To prevent the hodgepodge from becoming bitter from the lemon zest, you can add squeezed juice instead of chopped lemons.

Cook the hodgepodge over low heat for another 10-15 minutes. The exact time for frying vegetables and cooking soup depends on your technique, products, and also your personal preferences. Use your technique, ingredients and your own taste. Turn off the heat, cover the pan and let the soup sit for 10 minutes.
