Sea cocktail salad with shrimp

Easy win-win cocktail salad with shrimp in 15 minutes. This is my “signature” recipe for cases when guests unexpectedly come and you need to feed them something - quite urgently and satisfyingly. In such situations, I make a side dish of creamed mashed potatoes or boil rice, and while the side dish is cooking, I whip up a salad that can be served on a plate, in a glass, or directly in vegetables (peppers, tomatoes). Guests who see it for the first time usually have a WOW effect (Wow! :))) By the way, the lemon here is not just for decoration: you can offer the guest to squeeze it directly into a salad cocktail if the guest likes a sour taste in food. Don’t worry, it won’t be too sour, since bell pepper allows you to balance the acid with sweetness, and when the light peppery saltiness of the fried shrimp is added to this game of tastes, a real feast of flavors happens in your mouth.

Step-by-step preparation

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients: wash the vegetables, peel the garlic, defrost the shrimp.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

We cut the garlic finely or into plastic pieces - like mine.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Fry the garlic in a small amount of oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

When the garlic is fried, add shrimp, salt and pepper. Fry them for 5 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Drain the liquid, place the prepared shrimp on a plate, sprinkle with lemon juice.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cut the tomato, leaving 1 slice for decoration.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

We cut off the stems of the greenery; we only need the leaves.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

    We cut the pepper.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Mix the peppers and tomatoes, add a little salt and mix gently so that the tomato pieces do not fall apart.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

To serve in a glass: add a mixture of tomatoes and peppers, decorate with herbs - you get a seabed with algae. Place a neat mound of shrimp on the “bottom” and decorate the cocktail with a slice of lemon. For the presented design, I also use a tomato slice. I stick 2 toothpicks into it next to each other. There are 2 ends left on one side, with which you can secure the structure to the glass. And we put shrimp on the ends sticking out on the other side.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Another serving option is in boats made from fresh peppers. For this option, we do not cut the pepper into slices, but carefully trim the edges to make boats. From 1 regular-sized bell pepper you get about 3 boats. Mix tomatoes with fried shrimp and place in boats. You can decorate the top with greenery or, for example, cocktail umbrellas.
