STEP 1
How to make pancakes from rye flour? Very fast and easy! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. The milk should be at room temperature, so remove it from the refrigerator in advance. You can use any vegetable oil, I used refined sunflower oil.
STEP 2
Sift rye flour into a bowl. Add sugar, soda, salt and citric acid. Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk. If you have citric acid in liquid form, you need to add it later (step 5). In this recipe, you can replace soda and citric acid with 1 tsp. baking powder.
STEP 3
Pour half of the room temperature milk into the flour mixture and stir with a whisk, breaking up any lumps. Then pour in the remaining milk.
STEP 4
Break the egg into the dough, pour in the vegetable oil and mix well again.
STEP 5
You will get a thick, homogeneous dough. Leave the dough for 5-7 minutes. During this time, it will thicken a little more. If after this the dough is too liquid, you can add a little more flour. If it is too thick and not flowable, you can dilute it a little more with milk.
STEP 6
Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan over low heat. Pour some batter into the center of the pan and form into an even pancake.
STEP 7
Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. The following pancakes can be fried without oil in a dry frying pan.
STEP 8
Transfer the finished rye flour pancakes to a plate and serve. Bon appetit!
