Rice with chicken in a pan with gravy
A classic combination of rice and chicken with a spicy kick. A budget-friendly and quick-to-prepare hearty second course. Spicy rice and tender, sour-spicy chicken gravy.
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Pour the washed rice with water, bring to a boil over high heat, add salt, turmeric, cumin and a few allspice peas. Reduce the heat to low and cook until the water is completely absorbed.
STEP 2

Grind chicken meat in a blender or meat grinder.
STEP 3

Finely chop the onion.
STEP 4

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 5

Fry the onion until lightly golden, add the carrots and fry until soft.
STEP 6

Add minced meat, add salt and stir vigorously to break up any lumps of minced meat, fry over high heat for about five minutes.
STEP 7

Add sour cream, paprika and thyme, simmer covered for 5-7 minutes. Place the finished rice on a plate and pour hot gravy over it.
