  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make puff pastry with jam from puff pastry? Prepare your food. Use yeast-free puff pastry for this recipe. It can be either ready-made, purchased in a store, or made independently at home. There are many wonderful puff pastry recipes on our website, you will find them in the link at the end of the recipe. Use the jam for the puff pastry as thick as possible so that it does not leak out during baking. Choose the flavor according to your preference.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Puff pastry is usually sold frozen. Remove it from the freezer in advance so that the dough has time to become soft before cooking. If it consists of two plates, be sure to separate them before defrosting, otherwise they will stick together. Place the defrosted dough on a floured surface and roll out lightly with a rolling pin. Do not roll it too thin, 5 mm will be enough.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the resulting layer into squares approximately 8*8 cm in size. I got 9 pieces from one layer of dough weighing 250 grams.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Take the workpiece and bend one corner, not reaching the edge by about 1 cm. Make cuts with a knife along the edge of the resulting small triangle, also without cutting to the very edge.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Bend the corner back and bend the opposite, already cut corner in the same way. In this case, only the resulting strip will bend. Using the same method, cut through the dough on this side.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Throw the second strip formed to the other edge. You will end up with a puff pastry with a hole in the middle. Make blanks from all the squares in this way.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the blanks on it. Place a teaspoon of jam in the center of each. Don’t be afraid that there is a lot of jam - the dough will rise well during baking and the jam will end up in the cavity.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Take an egg and lightly beat it with a fork. Using a pastry brush, brush the edges of each puff pastry. This is done to obtain a golden crust. I used one yolk for this, it’s also possible.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the puff pastries for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool the finished puff pastries and serve. Determine the exact time based on your oven.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

When serving, you can sprinkle the puff pastries with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!

I’ve been looking at these puff pastry puffs with jam for a long time, but I still couldn’t figure out how to turn the dough out) Katyusha, thank you for the detailed and clear description of the process. It turned out that forming these puff pastries is not at all difficult. I also used yeast-free puff pastry. For the filling I used plum jam and peach marmalade on gelfix. For lubrication, I took the yolk and mixed it with a small amount of 10% cream. The puff pastries were baked for 20 minutes. The finished products have risen, the inside has become layered as it should be) The top is golden brown and crispy. The filling spread a little, but it’s not scary, it even turned out tastier. The puff pastries have a pleasant crunch, and the filling adds a fruity flavor. I served them with fresh aromatic tea. The formation process is a pleasure and they bake quickly. Thank you!

I made puff pastry puffs with jam in the same way, then I got tired of making them and made the second layer of dough differently (easier). The dough really didn’t leak out, although I added a little starch to the jam. Brush with yolk and a drop of water. The puff pastry with jam made from puff pastry turned out beautiful, tasty and easy to hold by the tail.
