  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make puff rolls with cheese and sausage? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use absolutely any sausage to suit your taste; boiled, half-smoked or smoked is good. The choice of sausages will change the taste of the finished rolls. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer to defrost slightly.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion and rinse in clean water, wash and dry the tomato. Cut the onion and tomato as finely as possible, into cubes or cubes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan (you can use butter) and heat it. Fry the onion in hot oil until golden brown.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add tomato, garlic powder, a pinch of dry basil and salt to the onion. If the tomato is store-bought and most likely tasteless out of season, then you can add a pinch of sugar to all the ingredients. Over high heat, stirring continuously, cook the vegetables until the excess liquid from the tomato has evaporated.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The consistency of the sauce should be approximately the same as in the photo. Remove the pan from the heat and cool its contents. Turn on the oven at 180-200 degrees.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Peel the sausage and grate on a coarse grater.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place a sheet of puff pastry on the table.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Spread the tomato and onion sauce evenly over the surface of the dough. This can be done using a tablespoon or a silicone brush.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the sausage evenly in the next layer.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Next comes the turn of cheese. I used store-bought grated cheese; if you have cheese in one piece, then you need to grate it on a coarse grater, just like sausage.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Roll the filled sheet of dough into a roll, as in the photo.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Cut the roll with a sharp knife into pieces no more than two centimeters thick.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Beat the egg into a bowl and whisk with a whisk or fork until smooth.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can choose the right parchment paper by reading a separate article about the features of parchment, the link is at the end of the recipe.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Brush each roll with egg wash using a silicone brush.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Sprinkle the tops of the rolls with sesame seeds. Place the rolls in a preheated oven and bake at 180-200 degrees on the “top-bottom” setting until cooked. Cooking time and mode may vary depending on the characteristics of your oven. You should focus on the appearance of rosy sides and a delicious crispy crust on top.

I usually use puff pastry for pizza. But when I saw a recipe for rolls with cheese and sausage on the website, I became interested and decided to try making them. For the filling I took boiled and smoked sausage, cheese, tomato, and onion. I fried the vegetables in vegetable oil with salt and prepared seasoning. I defrosted the dough and rolled it out. I placed fried vegetables on the dough, sliced sausage on top, then grated cheese. She carefully rolled the roll and placed it seam side down. I cut the roll into small pieces, placed them on a baking sheet, brushed them with beaten egg and put them in the oven. I baked puff pastry rolls with cheese and sausage for 25 minutes at 220°. The rolls turned out wonderful! Delicious, soft, with a crispy crust and juicy filling, very reminiscent of pizza. They disappeared from the table instantly. Thank you very much for the recipe!
