  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make potato pancakes? First, prepare the necessary ingredients. Sour cream will suit any fat content, depending on your preferences. You can replace sunflower oil with any other oil, including butter, lard or cooking fat.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the potatoes, dry them with napkins and peel them. Grate the raw potatoes on a fine grater and drain the juice. To prevent the pancakes from turning out too dry, do not squeeze the grated potatoes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add a raw egg to the grated potatoes and mix the mixture.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then add sour cream. Stir the mixture until smooth.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sift the flour through a fine sieve to make it more airy and remove any lumps if there are any.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix the sifted flour in parts into the grated potatoes. You should get a thick, moderately viscous homogeneous mass.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Season the potato mixture with salt, pepper and mix again.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fry potato pancakes made from raw potatoes in a preheated frying pan in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown. Serve the dish hot with sour cream or any unsweetened sauce.

I made potato pancakes using this recipe in a frying pan. It turned out to be a very simple and quick snack. The dish is quite inexpensive. I prepared a double portion at once; we love these pancakes very much. I grated the raw potatoes on a coarse grater, drained the liquid and, as recommended by the author, did not squeeze the potatoes so that my pancakes would not be dry. Added sour cream, homemade eggs, flour. I mixed the dough with my hands, it came out quite tender. From the spices I added salt and pepper. I fried potato pancakes in odorless sunflower oil until golden brown on both sides, spooned out the potato dough with a tablespoon. The potato pancakes came out beautiful. They are juicy and tender on the inside with a crispy outside. My pancakes came apart perfectly. Absolutely everyone liked the dish. A wonderful recipe made from affordable ingredients. Many thanks to the author 😊
