  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the following ingredients. Choose non-starchy varieties of potatoes so that they retain their shape when baked. The dish will be much tastier from new potatoes. I took milk with 3.2% fat content, but this is not important. Salt and ground black pepper to taste, you can take your favorite spices for potatoes. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare a mold for use in the oven, I took an enamel mold with a diameter of 22 centimeters. You will also need foil. Wash and peel the potatoes. Using a grater or knife, cut the potatoes into thin circles. Grease the selected baking dish with butter (a teaspoon of oil). Place half of the chopped potatoes in the pan. Salt and pepper the potatoes.

Peel the onions, rinse and cut into rings or half rings. Spread the sliced onions evenly over the first layer of potatoes.

  4. STEP 4

Place the remaining chopped potatoes on the onion layer. You can lay it out chaotically, or you can lay it out more carefully. Add salt and ground black pepper on top.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Heat the milk until it is hot and pour over the potatoes, but make sure it does not reach the edge. When baking, the milk may rise and spill out of the pan.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pre-melt the butter; this can be done in a water bath or in the microwave. Pour the melted butter over the entire surface of the potatoes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cover the pan with foil and place in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then remove the foil and bake the potatoes for another 10 - 15 minutes, until golden brown.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Carefully remove the finished potatoes from the oven and place on serving plates. Such potatoes can be served as an independent dish, or can be offered as a side dish for meat, chicken, and semi-finished products. In any case, offer fresh vegetables or homemade pickles with potatoes.

I wanted to cook something new from potatoes. I found a recipe on the website that caught my attention because of its name: Boulanger potatoes! Peeled the potatoes and cut them into thin slices, cut the onion into half rings. For spices I used salt, pepper and smoked paprika. Place half of the potatoes in a baking dish greased with butter. Then onion half rings, salt and spices. I laid out the other half of the potatoes. I warmed the milk slightly and poured it over the potatoes. Added melted butter on top. Covered it with foil and put it in the oven to bake at 180° for 35 minutes. Then I removed the foil and waited for another 15 minutes. It turned out to be a fragrant, tasty potato! I recommend making it and thanks to the author for the recipe 😘

Anna, I was very interested in your recipe, it should turn out very tasty. Tell me, do raw onions bake normally during this time and don’t remain hard? Don't need to prepare the onions in advance?
