    STEP 1

How to make polenta with cheese? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Choose good quality cheese, the taste of the dish will depend on it. Any cheese is suitable - hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, of high quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well. You can take more or less of it at your discretion. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cook corn porridge. Boil water in a suitable sized saucepan with a thick bottom. Add salt. Add corn grits to the water and stir. Cook the porridge over low heat with frequent stirring, as the corn porridge will noticeably stick to the bottom as it thickens during cooking. From time to time you can add a little boiling water to help the cereal boil better. The cooking time will depend on the grinding of the cereal. The finer it is, the faster the porridge will cook.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grate some of the cheese on a fine grater, cut the rest into small pieces. I took 2 types of hard cheese with different flavors.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

The porridge turns out quite thick. Add butter to hot polenta and stir.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add some grated cheese. Mix everything well.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Grease a baking dish with a small amount of butter. Add corn porridge and smooth it out. I have a mold with a diameter of 23 cm.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place pieces of chopped cheese into the porridge.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Top the polenta with the remaining grated cheese.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Bake the polenta in an oven preheated to 180 C until the cheese melts, about 10-15 minutes. The time will depend on the operating characteristics of your oven.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Serve polenta with cheese warm with any sauce or as a side dish. Bon appetit!

I have cooked corn porridge with milk for breakfast more than once, but never baked it. When I saw a recipe for polenta with cheese on the website, I really wanted to try it. Making polenta with cheese is very simple. My corn grits were finely ground. I took a little less cheese - 110 grams. I baked the polenta in a rectangular pan measuring 26x17 cm for about 12 minutes. I would never have thought that corn grits would go so well with cheese. Not yet baked, I tried cooked corn porridge with grated cheese, and I already liked it. The polenta turned out very tasty and filling. It’s also such a bright yellow color that it naturally lifts your spirits. Julia, thank you very much for the recipe!
