  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook porridge from corn grits with milk? Prepare all the necessary products. Choose cereals from a reliable manufacturer, clean, without foreign impurities, and most importantly, without the larvae of cereal midges. Therefore, do not chase cheapness, but focus on the appearance of the cereal. Milk can be of any fat content. In addition, in addition to regular milk of animal origin, you can also use plant milk. Use the amount of sugar and salt to suit your taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare a saucepan with a thick bottom - only in such a container can you cook milk porridge. It’s even better if you have a special pan with a double bottom for cooking porridge. Pour milk into the pan, add salt.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Then add sugar. If you prefer sweet porridges or maybe you are cooking for children, then you can add vanilla sugar and cinnamon. Literally a pinch of each ingredient.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Bring the milk to a boil over low heat. Stir the milk constantly until it boils to prevent it from burning.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Rinse the cereal well until the water runs clear. If necessary, remove debris and foreign matter. Corn grits come in two types: very fine, which is used to make polenta, and larger, structural ones. To prepare this dish, you can use any type of cereal. I took the larger type. Pour the cereal into boiling milk.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for literally 5 minutes. Keep in mind that the porridge will thicken greatly. If you like a more liquid version of porridge, then initially add less cereal or add a little milk or water to the pan during cooking.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

You can add butter to the porridge, or you can not add it - it’s all at your discretion. And, of course, milk porridges should be cooked immediately before eating and eaten hot. Bon appetit!

Wonderful recipe! I often cook porridge, mainly for the child. I liked corn grits porridge with milk for its simplicity and speed of preparation! I also decided to make corn porridge for the child, but I used finely ground cereal. I prepared it exactly according to the recipe without any changes. I cooked the porridge in a non-stick pan with a thick bottom. I boiled milk with salt and sugar, then added finely ground cereal and cooked for 5 minutes, as the author writes. I cooked it with constant stirring so that my porridge did not burn. I added butter at my discretion, literally 5 grams. The result was a fragrant, thick and very tasty porridge. I immediately served it to my child for breakfast, he was happy and ate it all. An excellent and satisfying breakfast is very quick and easy to prepare. Thank you!

I made corn grits porridge with milk for breakfast. Made for 4 servings. I took milk in half with water (400 ml of milk and 400 ml of water). I used coarsely ground corn grits. I cooked the porridge for 5 minutes over medium heat, as recommended in the recipe. To be honest, I was afraid that this time would not be enough. But it turned out that it was in vain. The cereal was well cooked. The porridge turned out moderately thick, sweet, but not cloying. An excellent option for a hearty and nutritious breakfast. Thank you very much for the recipe!
