  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pea puree in a slow cooker? Prepare the indicated products. It is better to use split peas. If you have whole peas, first soak them in cold water and leave for a couple of hours. Remember that all multicookers work differently, so the time and mode may not match for you. Read more about how multicookers work in the article at the end of this recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the peas well in plenty of water.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the washed peas in the multicooker bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Fill the peas with water in proportions 1:3. Then grease the inside of the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter, 2 cm above the water level. This will prevent water from escaping. Place the bowl in the multicooker, close the lid and set the “stew” mode for about 2 hours. The exact time depends on the power and operating features of your multicooker. If you are afraid that the peas will “run away,” cook with the multicooker bowl open. Add more water if necessary.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

10 minutes before the pea puree is ready, salt and pepper it and add butter. If desired, add spices to taste, such as Provençal, Italian herbs and aromatic peppers.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix the puree well. When the program time ends, leave the puree in the multicooker bowl for at least 10 minutes, without opening the lid, let the dish sit.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The pea puree is smooth and tender.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Serve pea puree as a side dish for meat dishes or on its own. It tastes great with saltine crackers. Bon appetit!

I found this recipe and couldn't be happier. My husband really loves pea puree. I used to cook on the stove and it took a lot of time. It turns out that you can make pea puree in a slow cooker and absolutely without problems with minimal time investment from completely simple products. I put the washed peas, butter, salt (I did not add pepper) into a slow cooker and filled it with water 1:3 as described in the recipe. I greased the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter as recommended by the author. I cooked it in “porridge” mode for 2 hours. Excellent preparation, in my opinion. I put it in, turned it on and left) The peas boiled well in the specified time in the slow cooker. I didn't add any more water. The puree turned out to be incredibly tender and pleasant in taste. The dish is aromatic and tasty. I served pea puree with cutlets and vegetables. Great recipe! All pea puree lovers will love this recipe, try it! Many thanks to the author 😊

Angel, how yummy! The puree turned out so smooth, is it really from cooking in a slow cooker? Great tip about the sides of the pan and the butter! I wonder if this can be done when boiling milk? Well, so that it doesn’t “run away” Thank you very much for the recipe and advice!

Aziza. Hello, is it not necessary to stir for 2 hours in the stewing mode?

Don't you need to soak the peas?
