  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make orange cake with orange in the oven? First, prepare your ingredients. It is better to choose red oranges. But any other cupcake turns out just as good. Maybe it’s a little inferior in brightness and that’s all. Take white, wheat, premium or 1st grade flour. Wash the oranges well and dry with napkins.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place one whole orange in a saucepan, add water, bring the water to a boil and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water, cut the orange into slices along with the peel, remove the seeds and puree in a blender.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the second orange into not very thick slices. If your baking dish is rectangular, like mine, then cut some of the circles in half. In general, make sure the orange slices are as close together as possible.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar into a fluffy light mass, being careful not to beat the eggs, otherwise the cake will not be fluffy. The mass should lighten and increase in volume by 2-3 times. And many small bubbles will appear on the surface.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sift the flour through a fine sieve with baking powder and add to the dough. Beat with a mixer until smooth. It may take you more/less flour than mine. Focus on the fact that the dough should be fluid, but not too liquid.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add orange puree to the dough and mix well.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place orange slices in a silicone cake pan. If you have a metal mold, grease it with oil before adding fruit.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour the batter over the oranges. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C. Use your technique based on baking time and temperature.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cool the finished cake slightly and turn it over onto a plate so that the oranges are on top. It comes out of the silicone mold without any problems. This is what you will get in the end.

I accidentally saw this recipe and was attracted by the picture with a beautiful and delicious cupcake, and even a citrus one. Only I didn't have any oranges. I thought that I could replace them with tangerines as a test. The dough seems to be biscuit, easy to prepare. Instead of one orange, I boiled three small tangerines. Only I boiled them twice, drained the first broth and poured fresh water. I did this so that possible bitterness and chemicals would go away, and the citrus fruits would become soft and blend well with an immersion blender. I greased the pan with butter for a better taste of the baked goods and sprinkled the bottom with a little sugar, I like to do this when I bake upside-down cakes) The cake turned out orange, even without any inclusions. The aroma of tangerines is just crazy! I think it would be the same with oranges. The cake itself is very moist! At the same time, it is not at all mushy; on the contrary, it is porous, airy, like a biscuit. It is soft, even on the second day it did not dry out. Amazing cupcake, I was amazed by the combination of juiciness and softness) And how delicious it is, I have never tried anything like it! Now I'll make it with oranges. I definitely recommend this recipe. Thank you very much!
