  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake snack muffins with cheese and ham in the oven? Prepare your ingredients. I take 3.2% kefir, you can use any, even better if it sits longer in the refrigerator. The flour is wheat, but it can be diluted - make a mixture of wheat and rye/whole grain (210 grams in total). For dry spices, I take a pinch of Provençal herbs; thyme, oregano, and paprika are also suitable. The cheese is hard, you can use any cheese you like. Ham can also be replaced with brisket or sausage.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the ham into small cubes, grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Take a deep bowl, crack a raw egg into it and beat lightly with a fork or whisk. Add kefir, vegetable oil and mix everything until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

In another bowl, mix chopped ham, grated cheese, salt, soda, dry spices. Mix the mixture, add the sifted flour and baking powder into it and mix again.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In a deep bowl, combine the dry ingredients with the liquid ones and mix until smooth.

To bake muffins, you can simply grease the muffin pan with vegetable oil and spoon out the mixture without reaching the edges of the pan. You can also use paper capsules; then there is no need to lubricate them with oil. Place the paper capsules in muffin tins and pour the dough into them. Place the muffin tins in a preheated oven for 25-35 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens in the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

    STEP 7

Remove the finished cupcakes from the oven. Let them cool slightly in the pan, then serve. These muffins are good both hot and cold. They are perfect for breakfast, as a snack or as an appetizer with a glass of white wine. Bon appetit!

My whole family loves these not sweet cupcakes. They are good for a snack and for breakfast. In addition to cheese and ham, I also added chopped green onions to the filling. The dough was kneaded quickly and easily, with a consistency as thick as sour cream. I baked in metal molds. I pre-lubricated them with oil. Only the finished cupcakes were difficult to remove, because... the cheese melted and did not want to come off the walls. Therefore, I waited until the cupcakes cooled down a little and the cheese stabilized, after which I quite easily released the remaining cupcakes) I concluded that it is better to bake them in silicone molds, or better yet, in paper capsules, then the molds will be clean. The cupcakes turned out soft, porous, and airy. The filling goes well together. The children especially liked the rich and tasty muffins. The recipe is wonderful, thank you!

Why use soda if the recipe calls for baking powder?
