Meatballs with rice like in kindergarten
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Let's prepare the products. Take any meat you like. I have ready-made minced pork at the moment. Using a meat grinder, grind the meat on a grid with the smallest holes.
STEP 2
Now let's get to the rice. It needs to be boiled until half cooked in salted water. In fact, it doesn’t matter at all what type of rice is round or oblong. This will not affect the taste of the dish. Rinse the cereal in several waters, add water and cook until al dente. After all, we will be stewing the meatballs later - the rice will be cooked and will not be overcooked. If there is some water left in the rice, place it in a colander and let the excess liquid drain.
STEP 3
Now the bow. The more, the juicier the meatballs will be. But the onion needs to be chopped very well. You can grate it, or you can, as I did, grind it in a blender into a paste.
STEP 4
In a bowl, combine minced meat, cooled rice and chopped onion.
STEP 5
Add one egg, salt and pepper to taste. You can add your favorite dried herbs.
STEP 6
Now mix our minced meat thoroughly and beat it. So that all the ingredients combine into one mass. Taste for salt.
STEP 7
With wet hands, form small meatballs and lightly bread them in flour.
STEP 8
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry our preparations until golden brown on all sides.
STEP 9
Place the fried meatballs in a saucepan or in a frying pan with high sides.
STEP 10
Dissolve tomato paste in a glass of warm water.
STEP 11
Pour this sauce over the meatballs, cover the saucepan with a lid and simmer over moderate heat for 10 minutes.
STEP 12
Then again dilute the sour cream and flour in a glass of water so that there are no lumps.
STEP 13
Pour this sauce over the meatballs and simmer until done for 10-15 minutes. Taste the gravy and add more salt if necessary. Just keep in mind that tomato paste is salty, do not oversalt the dish.
STEP 14
Meatballs in gravy like in kindergarten are ready! Delicious with mashed potatoes or pasta. Also serve them with fresh vegetables.
STEP 15
Cook for your health, bon appetit!
