Meatballs in creamy sauce in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make meatballs in cream sauce in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Minced meat can be made from any type of meat, I used beef and pork. You can take either ready-made or made yourself. It’s better to take round rice - the meatballs won’t fall apart with it.
STEP 2
First of all, prepare the rice. Rinse the cereal in several waters, then fill it with clean cold water and put it on the fire. Once the water boils, remove the pan from the heat and drain the rice into a sieve. There is no need to rinse it. Leave the rice to cool.
STEP 3
In the meantime, get busy with the minced meat. Peel and chop the onion in any way - with a knife, in a blender or on a grater. I always grate the onion to make the minced meat juicier.
STEP 4
Add half-boiled rice to the minced meat and beat in the egg. Salt and pepper to taste. You can also add your favorite spices.
STEP 5
Knead the minced meat well with your hands. It should turn out viscous and homogeneous.
STEP 6
Roll the minced meat into balls the size of a walnut or slightly larger. I got 11 pieces from half the portion.
STEP 7
Prepare the ingredients for the sauce. Take cream with a fat content of 10-20%. Instead of meat broth, you can use vegetable broth or plain water like I did.
STEP 8
For the sauce, melt the butter in a frying pan over low heat. Pour flour into it and quickly mix it with butter.
STEP 9
Pour broth or water into the butter-flour mixture. Stir and cook until boiling.
STEP 10
Pour in the cream and stir. Salt and pepper to taste. If you use broth, be aware of its saltiness. Heat the sauce, but do not bring it to a boil. Remove the pan with the sauce from the heat and set aside.
STEP 11
In another frying pan, heat vegetable oil for frying. Dip the meatballs in flour and place in the pan.
STEP 12
Fry the meat balls over high heat until browned on all sides.
STEP 13
Then pour the creamy sauce over the meatballs. It is quite liquid, but will thicken with further simmering. Cover the pan with a lid and turn the heat to low. Simmer the meatballs for 20-30 minutes, depending on the size.
STEP 14
Serve the meatballs with any side dish. Bon appetit!
