  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Grind sugar and vegetable oil.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

    Mix flour with baking powder.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour mineral water into the flour and mix.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then add a mixture of sugar and vegetable oil. Knead the dough. If the dough turns out to be fluid, add more flour, 1 tbsp at a time. l. until the dough becomes soft and elastic.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Roll out the dough. There is no need to sprinkle the table with flour, since the dough will not stick when rolled out.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Using a knife or a cutter with a wavy edge, cut the dough into narrow rectangles.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

We make a cut in the middle of each rectangle, not reaching the edge.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

We pull the end of the rectangle into the middle through the cut and turn it inside out, you can repeat it a couple of times, then you get a pigtail.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour oil into a frying pan and heat it up. Fry the brushwood on both sides.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the finished brushwood on napkins so that they absorb excess oil.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Then put the brushwood in a dish and you can sprinkle with powdered sugar. There was enough sugar in the brushwood for my taste.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

    Bon appetit!

I came across the recipe for brushwood with lean water by accident. I have cooked classic brushwood once in my life. I decided to try making it using this recipe. I used olive oil. I took all the ingredients in the quantities indicated in the recipe. My dough turned out lumpy and fell apart. I didn’t add any more flour, just added a little butter. So the dough turned out to be one single lump. It is quite tight, not very elastic. Twisting blanks from it is quite problematic. Some of them broke and tore. Perhaps I should have let the finished dough rest a little, but I thought about that later. Despite everything, the brushwood on the water turned out very tasty, crispy, crumbly, and rosy. The next day it didn’t dry out, but remained the same as after cooking. Thank you very much for the recipe!

The brushwood turned out delicious and crumbly. The vegetable oil indicated in the ingredients goes completely into the dough. While kneading the dough, I added about another glass of flour. The dough is elastic, easy to roll out, and done very quickly. If you don’t have lemon zest at the time of preparing the brushwood, it is not necessary here (I did it without it). Excellent recipe, one of a kind - easy and fast!
