Layered snail with cheese and ham
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make puff snails with cheese and ham? Prepare food for them. Take the dough ready-made, it is usually sold in the form of two layers, you will need one layer. Or cut half off a long roll of dough like I did. Any ham will do, either already sliced or in a whole piece. It is better to choose cheese that melts well.
STEP 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. For this recipe, you can take sliced cheese, then you don’t need to grate it.
STEP 3
Thaw the dough first. It is best to do this gradually, in the refrigerator compartment. With slow defrosting, the dough will completely restore its properties and become the same as before freezing. Sprinkle your work surface with flour and place the dough on it. Roll out the dough into a thin layer, about 3 mm thick.
STEP 4
Sprinkle it with grated cheese. If you have slicing, then place the slices of cheese on the surface of the layer.
STEP 5
Place slices of ham on top. You can overlap it if you like meat filling and cover the entire surface of the layer. Or spread out sparsely if you prefer cheese. Pre-slice the unsliced ham. You can also grate it on a coarse grater. In addition to ham and cheese, you can add chopped bell peppers, tomatoes, and any greens. You can grease the base with mayonnaise or ketchup, it will be juicier, but the calorie content will increase, keep this in mind.
STEP 6
Roll the dough along the long side.
STEP 7
Cut the resulting roll into circles about 1 cm thick.
STEP 8
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the resulting snails on a baking sheet, leaving a small distance between them, as the dough will grow a little.
STEP 9
Lightly beat the egg with a fork. Brush the egg onto the top of the rolls using a pastry brush.
STEP 10
Bake the snails in the oven, preheated to 180°C for 25-30 minutes. They should be golden brown on top. Cool them slightly and serve immediately.
