  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a layer pie with apples in the oven from ready-made dough? Prepare your food. Remove the dough from the refrigerator in advance to defrost. You can make homemade dough. You will find the recipes at the end. Choose apples according to your taste. If they are too sour, you can increase the amount of sugar. And vice versa: if the apples are sweet, you can reduce the amount of sugar. Take any jam, it doesn’t affect the taste much. The butter must be chilled.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Place the finished puff pastry on it. Roll out the dough into a thin layer according to the size of your baking dish, taking into account the sides.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the dough in a basket-shaped mold. You can use either a round or rectangular shape. Trim off excess dough with a knife. Place the pan with the dough in the freezer while you prepare the filling. Read about how to choose a baking pan in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Turn on the oven to 190 degrees.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the apples well, preferably with baking soda, to remove the waxy coating from them (if you have purchased them). Then cut them into quarters. Remove the seed pod. Cut the apple quarters into thinner slices, about 5mm wide. It is important to leave the peel on the apples because this will help the slices hold their shape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the chopped apple slices in a suitable bowl and add sugar. Stir.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Remove the pan containing the dough from the refrigerator. Place apple slices on it randomly. The more apples there are, the tastier the pie will be. Please note that the slices will shrink slightly during baking, so place them overlapping.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Spread small pieces of butter evenly over the apples. Place the pie in the oven, preheated to 190°C. Bake the pie for about 25-40 minutes until the apples are golden brown. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

While the cake is baking, prepare the jam. Place it in a saucepan and add a tablespoon of water. Heat the jam until liquid, stirring. If the jam is not initially thick, do not add water to it. If it’s a bit runny, you don’t have to heat it at all. The main thing is that it can be spread with a brush over the surface of the pie. Prepare the jam just before the cake bakes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Remove the pan with the finished pie from the oven. Cool the pie slightly. Brush the top of the pie with hot or runny jam using a pastry brush. Why put jam on a pie? This will give it an appetizing shine. The puff pastry pie with apples is ready. Serve it to the table. Bon appetit!

I really liked the recipe for layer pie with apples. I defrosted a layer of dough, rolled it out and put it in a pan lined with parchment paper. Initially I took three apples, but then added a fourth to them. I cut them as described in the recipe - into slices and laid them on the dough. I lightly sprinkled the slices with sugar since the apples are sweet on their own. I placed several thin slices of butter on top. The cake baked quite quickly. I smeared the apples on top with cherry jam mixed with water. The finished pie brought the family together at the table for tea. Thanks to the author!

I read the recipe last night and made it today!!! This is fire!!! My son ate the ENTIRE pie himself!! (I didn’t mind, because I don’t eat baked goods in the summer), but this is an indicator!! Because the pie was giganter, and he ate it all ALONE!!... We laughed, “the son said that he loves apple puff pastry.
