Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make envelopes with apples from puff pastry? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer in advance to allow it to thaw. The dough can be used either with or without yeast. Choose sweet and sour apples to taste.
STEP 2

While the puff pastry is defrosting, prepare the apple filling. Peel and core the apples. Cut the apples into cubes. Melt a piece of butter in a frying pan and add the chopped apples. Add sugar and cinnamon to them. Stir and fry them for 2-4 minutes.
STEP 3

At first, juice will appear from the apples, but it will very quickly become viscous and the apples will be covered, as it were, with a caramel coating. Remove the apple filling from the heat and cool.
STEP 4

Roll out the puff pastry a little and cut into 6 squares.
STEP 5

Place apple filling on each piece. Gather the corners of the dough in the center and seal the edges with an envelope.
STEP 6

Place the envelopes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with egg yolk on top and sprinkle a little sugar.
STEP 7

Bake the envelopes in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 20-30 minutes. They cook very quickly! As soon as the baked goods become rosy and golden, remove the baking sheet from the oven, cool slightly and enjoy. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.
