STEP 1
How to make Maple Pecan Puffs? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can make your own homemade puff pastry. You will find the recipes after the last step. Remove the dough from the freezer in advance to defrost. Pecans can be replaced with cheaper walnuts. This, of course, will be a little different, but still delicious.
STEP 2
First, prepare the filling. Finely chop the nuts. You can take either more or a little less nuts. Turn on the oven at 180 degrees.
STEP 3
Place the chopped nuts in a bowl, pour in the maple syrup and stir.
STEP 4
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into 12x12cm squares.
STEP 5
Make several slanting cuts along the edges of each square.
STEP 6
Place 2-3 tbsp in the middle of each square. l. fillings.
STEP 7
Braid the puffs.
STEP 8
Place the puff pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment. You can choose the right parchment paper by reading a separate article about the features of parchment, the link is at the end of the recipe. Brush the tops of the buns with maple syrup.
STEP 9
Sprinkle the puff pastries with nuts.
STEP 10
Bake the puff pastries in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 20 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. To ensure a golden brown crust, at the end of baking, I once again brushed the puff pastries with maple syrup, when the dough had already risen and strengthened. Remove the finished puff pastries from the oven, cool slightly and serve table. Bon appetit!
