Lavash with ham and cheese

A quick snack when you don't have time to cook. Universal! Another successful pita roll recipe from my piggy bank. This time with ham and cheese. With melted cheese, the filling turns out very tender and soft. You can serve the appetizer on the festive table before the main course or prepare it for breakfast or a snack.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients. You will need thin Armenian lavash. How to choose the right lavash? First of all, look at the manufacturing date on the packaging. Do not take expired baked goods. Fresh pita bread should have a pleasant smell. Look carefully to make sure there are no stains or signs of mold.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash fresh dill, pat dry with paper towels and finely chop.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the garlic and finely chop it with a knife or pass it through a press. In a small container, combine chopped garlic with refined olive oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Lay out a sheet of thin Armenian lavash. Brush its surface evenly with garlic oil.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Spread the entire surface of the pita bread with soft melted cheese.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

    Sprinkle chopped dill on top.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

How to choose the right ham? Check the ingredients for soy, starch and flavorings. Natural ham is made from pork. Other types of meat in the composition are undesirable. I advise you to buy ready-made slices, so the slices will be the same size and thickness. Or cut it yourself into thin circles no more than 2-3 mm thick. If you cut the slices thicker, they will break when twisted. Place them around the perimeter of the pita bread, leaving space on one edge.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

How to roll pita bread correctly? Roll it carefully and as tightly as possible so that the filling does not fall out at the edges and the pita bread itself does not tear. If the roll is not rolled tightly, it will be difficult to cut it into beautiful pieces. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. During this time it will be well soaked and become soft.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cut the finished roll into small portions. Place them beautifully on a plate and garnish with sprigs of fresh dill or curly parsley. The appetizer is ready.

I liked wrapping something with slices in pita bread and I found a recipe for a ham roll. Everything is extremely simple, it’s very pleasing. I didn’t count the amount of ham, I just sliced it thinly and placed it on top of the melted cheese. My dill is dried, but very fragrant. I like the original solution of greasing the pita bread with olive oil and garlic. When I was rolling the roll, I wanted to add something else. I added a couple of strips of cucumber, like in rolls) It perfectly complemented the other ingredients with freshness. Next time I'll sprinkle extra walnuts. The pita bread did not tear when folded, but I would add another layer of pita bread for strength. The roll is very tender and at the same time spicy. You can experiment and add garlic not to the butter, but to the melted cheese, perhaps you will get a milder taste. By the way, cheese is very easy to spread on top of olive oil) I am happy with the recipe, and the guests were happy with the aromatic and tasty appetizer) Thanks for the recipe!
