  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make lavash pies? Prepare your food. One sheet of thin pita bread will make 4 small pies. Choose cheese that melts well. Also choose greens to your taste. I didn’t have any fresh, so I used frozen parsley and purple basil.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

If the greens are fresh, wash them under running water and then dry them. Excess moisture will make the filling soggy. Then chop it finely.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Combine cheese and herbs. Stir. The filling is ready.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Take some pita bread. Cut it into long strips. The approximate size for small pies is 9-10 cm wide and 40-50 cm long. Then the filling will be wrapped securely and will not leak out during frying. It is convenient to cut pita bread with scissors.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Form the pies. To do this, take a strip of pita bread and put the filling on it. How much to put is at your discretion. The cheese can be laid out 2/3 of the way, it will melt and taste better. Add the juicy filling only at the beginning; it will soak the length of the pita bread.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Start rolling the pita bread, bending the triangle with each turn.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Wrap it like this until the very end of the strip. The result will be a triangular pie like this.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Do the same with the other strips.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

The pies are wrapped, you can start frying them.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

For the egg batter, crack an egg into a bowl and lightly beat it with a fork. Add a pinch of salt.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Heat a frying pan on the stove. Pour vegetable oil onto it. Dip each pie in egg on all sides and then place in oil in a frying pan.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Fry the pies over low heat until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Turn the pies over to the other side and fry them as well.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Place the finished pies on a paper towel - it will absorb excess fat. Serve the pies immediately, hot - then they will be crispy.

These wonderful lavash pies with cheese in a frying pan helped me out a lot. I spent the whole day packing fruits and vegetables; I didn’t have time to cook dinner. And when in the evening the children came into the kitchen and asked what we were going to eat... that’s when I remembered that I had lavash in my stash) The lavash was in the form of a long rectangular roll. I cut it into six wide strips. For the filling I found some grated cheese in the freezer. I added a small bunch of greens to it, mixed it and distributed it over strips of pita bread. While the frying pan was heating up, I rolled up the triangles. Rolled it tightly so that the filling did not fall out. These pies fry quickly! By the way, one egg was enough for me, there was even a little left, it would definitely be enough for one pie) We ate hot lavash pies with fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. It's very tasty and very fast. The crust turned out crispy, and inside there were several layers of “dough” and melted cheese. Thanks for this delicious recipe! I recommend!
