  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make Korean marinated squid with carrots? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Wash the carrots well and peel them. Peel the onions and wash them. Thaw the squids and place them in boiling salted water for 30 seconds.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Remove the squid from the water, dry and cut into strips.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the onion into thin rings. To prevent your eyes from watering, periodically wet the knife with cold water.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil on the stove. Fry the onions with the sesame seeds for one minute. Remove the pan from the stove. Remove the onions and sesame seeds so as not to scoop up a lot of oil. In order for dried coriander to reveal all its aromas, you can also add it to the frying. I didn't do this.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Grate the carrots on a special grater or cut into strips. The thinner and smoother it is, the better. You can take ready-made Korean carrots.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Combine squid, carrots and onion in a bowl. Add sugar, salt, coriander and vinegar. Stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the squid with carrots in the refrigerator to marinate for 4 hours. Sprinkle the finished appetizer with chopped parsley and serve.

Although I am indifferent to squid, I liked the dish. Check out another recipe - pasta with squid in creamy sauce. Nothing too.

I love seafood very much, so I made myself Korean marinated squid with carrots for dinner. My portion is for one carcass. I didn’t defrost it first, I immediately put it in boiling salted water for two minutes. The main thing here is not to overcook it. I managed this task, my squid turned out very tender and soft. I cut the carcass into strips. I grated a small carrot for Korean salads. The onion was cut into half rings and fried until golden brown. I advise you to squeeze the onion well after this, because more oil is added to the salad. By the way, I took unrefined mustard. I prefer apple vinegar for salads; it seems to me that it is “softer” and gives an interesting flavor. I didn’t use coriander; I had enough garlic for an appetizing aroma. The salad marinated for about an hour. During this time, the carrots settled, releasing their juice. And the squid strips were well saturated with all the tastes and smells. I really liked the squid salad! It is both gentle and spicy. The sweetness of the carrots complements the squid perfectly. I usually use raw onions, but in this particular dish, fried ones are more suitable. Thanks for the recipe!
