  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry pink salmon steaks in a frying pan? First of all, prepare the fish. If you have a whole carcass, then first clean it of scales, remove the entrails and gills (you may later cook a delicious broth or soup from the head, and therefore it is better not to leave the gills, as they impart bitterness). Cut the fish into steaks about 2-3 centimeters thick. If you have store-bought frozen pieces, remove them from the freezer in advance and defrost them.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Dry the pink salmon steaks well on all sides with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Salt each piece on both sides and pepper with allspice and ground red pepper. Sprinkle the fish with a pinch of dried rosemary; it goes well with red fish. Leave the pink salmon to marinate in this way for 10-15 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour refined vegetable oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom and high edges. Warm it up well. If desired, add a couple of cloves of garlic and a sprig of fresh rosemary to the oil. Immerse pink salmon steaks in oil and reduce heat to medium. Fry the fish with the lid open until half cooked, 3-5 minutes (I cooked for about 3 minutes). When the garlic and rosemary acquire a golden hue, remove them from the pan; they have already served their purpose.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Turn the steaks over to the other side and fry until done (another 3-5 minutes).

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the finished steaks on a plate and sprinkle with squeezed lemon juice. Serve with fresh vegetables and salad.

For this recipe I used frozen pink salmon steaks. After defrosting them in the microwave, I dried the steaks with a paper towel and marinated them for 20 minutes. I had all the necessary ingredients except rosemary (both dried and fresh). I replaced dry rosemary with a mixture of Caucasian herbs. I couldn’t find a fresh replacement, so I didn’t use anything instead. I fried pink salmon for 5 minutes, and sometimes a little more, on each side, since some steaks were more than 3 cm thick. Juicy pink salmon fried in a frying pan turned out amazingly tasty . It's really juicy and every bite melts in your mouth. Lemon juice really brings out the flavor of the fish. Spices also complement it perfectly. Served fish with chips and Unagi sauce. The whole family was satisfied. Zhemchuzhina, thank you very much for the recipe!
