  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to quickly bake whole jacket potatoes in the microwave? Prepare your food. You need to choose the right good quality potatoes: of course, young potatoes from a new harvest are preferable. It will turn out very tender and crumbly, and its skin is much thinner. Young potatoes are not always on sale, so tubers from an old harvest can also be used.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Choose medium-sized or even very small potatoes. Be sure to rinse the tubers well; it is best to use a special brush and vegetable wash. There should be no pieces of soil left on the potatoes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Since we will be cooking jacket potatoes in the microwave, use dishes that can be used in the microwave. Let me remind you that you should absolutely not use metal utensils or utensils with a shiny pattern in microwave ovens - the oven will spark and may completely fail. But glass, porcelain and even paper and wooden dishes are ideal. Place the washed potatoes in a deep bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cover the potatoes with a special lid for use in microwave ovens. I have a plastic lid with a small hole for steam to escape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the dish with the potatoes in the microwave, covered. The cooking process and time directly depend on the power of your microwave oven. Cook on medium power (mine is 800) for about 15 minutes. Again, the time may increase if you have large tubers, and decrease if you have small ones, usually new potatoes. In any case, focus primarily on the operating features of your equipment.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Serve jacket potatoes with coarse sea salt, pickled cucumber, or vice versa with fresh vegetables, herbs and salads. Bon appetit!

Phenomenal! This is not a recipe, this is a godsend!!! Jacket potatoes in the microwave at first gave me doubts. After thinking a little, I decided to prepare 6 pieces for testing. The cooking process is simple, absolutely no hassles. I chose potato tubers of the same size. I washed the potatoes, put them in the microwave and turned them on for 15 minutes at 800 W. The main thing is not to forget to cover with a special microwave lid, otherwise if the potatoes explode, it will take longer to clean the microwave than to cook! At first the potatoes were incredibly hot. After waiting a little, I took it out and eagerly cut it. Wow! The potatoes were baked and came out fragrant, tender, juicy and very appetizing. You can eat it just like that, or cut it into a salad. Now I will cook jacket potatoes only in the microwave and I recommend it to everyone!

I had experience baking potatoes in a bag and without skins. But this was my first time cooking jacket potatoes in the microwave. I selected small potatoes and washed them well with a brush. The power of my microwave is 750 W. I cooked it covered first for 10 minutes, then another 5. I think in my case 12-13 minutes would have been enough. It all depends on the variety and size of the potato. During baking, the potatoes release moisture and the skin dries out a little. The result is the effect of potatoes baked in the oven or over a fire. Potatoes prepared in this way are neutral in taste, so they can be supplemented with any sauce or simply sprinkled with salt and pepper. I sprinkled with a mixture of seasonings from the grinder and poured aromatic oil over it. Served with pickled cucumber as a bite, it made for a delicious quick lunch!
