    Grate the well-washed and peeled carrots on a coarse grater.

    Mix cabbage and carrots in a bowl. While stirring, press lightly on the cabbage to soften it and reduce in volume.

    Take a one and a half liter jar. Stuff the prepared cabbage into it properly. Put a small layer - crush it with your fist. All the cabbage should fit, which is why it had to be squeezed out in the previous step. I got a small fork, weighing less than what was required according to the norm, so my cabbage in the jar is not crowded. Place bay leaf and other spices to taste in the jar. Pour in vegetable oil.

Now I make cabbage salad almost every day, but I want some variety. I found a recipe for instant sweet cabbage on my favorite website. Our whole family loves sweet cabbage) I used young, loose cabbage, but hoped that it would not become too soft. I didn’t crush it for the same reason. I grated the carrots using a Korean carrot grater for beauty. I wanted to take mustard oil, it is aromatic and healthy. The only question I had was about vinegar, I forgot the proportions again) But on the line with this ingredient there is a calculator, I clicked on it and filled out the plate and immediately found out the proportions I needed! It's great! It turned out that I needed to take 220 ml. water and 30 ml. vinegar essence. The cabbage was marinated for a day and was served just in time for dinner. It turned out unusual, not like winter. The cabbage remained crispy, but became a little soft. The carrots became hard and crunchy, just like pickled carrots should) But the taste is amazing! So sweet and sour, pleasant, I immediately drank the pickle) This is a great alternative to the usual summer salad!
