How to cook frozen shrimp

Delicate aromatic shrimps are loved by everyone without exception. The benefits of shrimp are difficult to overestimate. Shrimp meat contains a lot of easily digestible protein, a high concentration of Omega-3.6 acids, and due to the content of “good” high-density cholesterol, shrimp fat is absolutely harmless to the body. Sea crustaceans contain many valuable vitamins, macro- and microelements, and various bioactive substances have also been found, for example, the antioxidant astaxanthin, and the high concentration of iodine allows the product to become a leader among other seafood

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

That's the whole simple set of ingredients that you will need to cook shrimp. The shrimp, of course, must be of high quality, fresh, approximately the same size, whole, the ice shell must not be thick, otherwise during the defrosting process our shrimp will lose a lot of weight and we will give money just for water. Typically, shrimp on sale are already pre-boiled, so we will cook them quite quickly

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First of all, put a fairly spacious pan of water on the fire (the ratio of shrimp to water is at least 1:2), and at this time we get rid of the ice coat. It is very common to add shrimp directly to the pan with ice, but this is a common mistake. This can be done very quickly by simply rinsing them with a stream of warm water - this way we will get rid of excess dirt, broken antennae and legs, as well as unnecessary ice

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

When the water boils, add the onion cut into 4 parts, it will give a characteristic aroma

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add salt - don’t be alarmed, we will need quite a lot of it - 1 liter of water needs 40-45 g of salt, if we are cooking already peeled frozen shrimp, the amount of salt should be halved

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add a couple of bay leaves

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add other dry spices - cloves, allspice and black peppercorns, they will come in very handy here. We also put an umbrella of dried dill or fresh herbs here - either way it will be very fragrant. The set of spices is quite arbitrary, you can use the ones I suggested, or you can add, for example, garlic, a special set of spices for seafood, or other spices to taste

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Bring water with spices and salt to a boil, then add shrimp. Bring the contents of the pan to a boil again and cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes; the crustacean meat is very tender, so this time is enough. If you have unprocessed shrimp that have a gray-green tint, cook them for 6-7 minutes

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

If desired, immediately peel the shrimp and sprinkle with lemon juice. But few people know that if you consume shrimp with shell particles, the chitosan they contain “expels” “bad” cholesterol that has already accumulated in the blood and helps fight obesity

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

    Bon appetit!
