Hot dog in a bun with sausage
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make hot dogs at home? Prepare all the necessary products. You can bake hot dog buns yourself, or you can use ready-made store-bought buns. I often use store-bought buns for this recipe. If possible, take home-made sausages or any that you most often buy.
STEP 2
Fill the sausages with cold water and place on the stove. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook until fully cooked.
STEP 3
While the sausages are cooking, prepare the remaining ingredients. Peel the onion and wash the tomato. To make the finished hot dog look more colorful and vibrant, I used red onion. You can take any cucumbers; salted, pickled or even fresh cucumbers work well. The recipe used pickled cucumbers. Cut the tomato and cucumber into thin rings. If the tomato is large, then cut it into half rings.
STEP 4
Heat hot dog buns in the microwave or oven. It is more convenient and faster to use a microwave, it will take 40-50 seconds.
STEP 5
Rinse the lettuce leaves and dry with paper towels. Cut each bun in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through (to create a kind of pocket). Grease the inside of the bun with a thin layer of mayonnaise (optional). Place 2-3 lettuce leaves.
STEP 6
Next, place several onion rings, cucumber and tomato slices in the bun.
STEP 7
Place boiled sausage in the middle.
STEP 8
Top with ketchup and mustard. Sweet and sour mustard is ideal for this recipe.
STEP 9
Top with crispy fried hot dog onions. Ready!
STEP 10
Serve while the bun and sausage are still hot.
