  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake Greek fish in the oven? Prepare all ingredients. You can take fillet or steak of any white (hake, pollock) or even red fish, such as pink salmon, to your taste. I took cod.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the tomato, dry it, cut into small cubes. Choose a tomato with dense walls, not soft, otherwise during baking it will lose its shape and ruin the appearance of the dish. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Take high-quality hard cheese, without adding vegetable fats, which melts well. You can also add diced sweet bell peppers to the sauce.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the garlic and pass through a press. If you wish, you can cut it into small cubes. Garlic will add its own aromatic note to the dish, but consider your taste preferences. In a deep bowl, combine tomatoes, cheese, garlic, sour cream, mayonnaise and fish seasoning. If you don’t have ready-made seasoning for fish, you can use spices that are suitable for baking fish in the oven, such as dill, marjoram, tarragon, rosemary, thyme.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Mix all ingredients thoroughly with a spoon or spatula.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Take a baking dish, grease it with vegetable oil using a silicone brush, and place the fish fillet in it. Salt and pepper to taste.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Spread the resulting sauce evenly over the fish. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180ºC for 30-35 minutes. Cooking times are approximate as all ovens operate differently. It may also take longer if you have thick fish steaks. The finished dish will take on an appetizing golden color. Bon appetit!

There is another option. You can bake fish in sour cream and onions. There won't be any extra cheese.

Great recipe - just enough of everything! I have already switched to baked versions rather than fried ones. Thank you !
