STEP 1

How to make General Salad with beets and smoked chicken? Prepare your ingredients. All vegetables are medium in size; pre-boil them until tender and cool. I took two small legs from smoked chicken; breast and drumsticks would also work. Take red onion, it looks more interesting and is not so spicy. I took “Russian” cheese. I still recommend not replacing mayonnaise in this salad, thanks to it the taste will be richer and the salad will better retain its shape and layers.
STEP 2

The salad is arranged in layers. To prepare it, you can take a deep salad bowl or cook it on a beautiful platter using a serving ring. You can also prepare it in portions for each person. I will prepare the salad using a 16 cm diameter serving ring. For the first layer of salad, remove the smoked chicken from the bone, remove the skin and cut into a medium cube. Place the shredded chicken on the bottom of the plate. Make a mayonnaise grid.
STEP 3

Peel the skins of the pre-boiled and cooled potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater. Place the grated potatoes in a second layer on the salad (add a little salt to taste) and lightly coat with mayonnaise or make a mayonnaise mesh.
STEP 4

Peel the red onion and chop finely. Add the next layer to the salad.
STEP 5

Peel the pre-boiled and cooled carrots and grate them on a coarse grater. Place the grated carrots in the next layer on the salad and coat with mayonnaise.
STEP 6

Grate the selected cheese on a medium grater and place it in the next layer in the salad. Spread with mayonnaise. Do not use a lot of mayonnaise so as not to interrupt the taste of the ingredients in the salad.
STEP 7

Peel the pre-boiled and cooled chicken eggs and grate them on a coarse grater. Mix grated eggs with a small amount of mayonnaise and place in the next layer in the salad.
STEP 8

Peel the skins from the pre-boiled and cooled beets. Grate the beets on a coarse grater. Add peeled and pressed garlic, a little mayonnaise and mix. Spread this mixture as the final layer on the salad.
STEP 9

Let the prepared salad stand in the refrigerator, so it will be tastier and juicier. Before serving, decorate the salad according to your taste and capabilities. I used fresh dill and basil leaves with thyme for decoration.
