Lunch on weekends is not complete without a first course. This time I made fresh cabbage soup with meat according to this recipe. I decided to make broth from beef on the bone. This meat takes a long time to cook, so I started cooking it in advance, in the morning. I cooked it first for 15 minutes, discarded the first broth, and then for two hours until done. The meat was cut into pieces. I added potatoes and cabbage half an hour before the meat was ready. My cabbage is “winter”, so I need to cook it longer. After adding the frying agent, I boiled it for about five minutes and let it brew. I put the bay leaf in the pan along with the onions and carrots so that it would not be bitter.
