STEP 1
How to fry French fries in vegetable oil? To begin, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Potato varieties that are low in starch are suitable for frying. They usually have a yellowish flesh. It is advisable to use finely ground salt.
STEP 2
Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into long cubes. It is better to take potatoes of the same size, oblong in shape, so that the slices are approximately 7-8 cm long.
STEP 3
Place the potatoes in a bowl, cover with cold water and leave for 10 minutes to remove excess starch from the potatoes.
STEP 4
Then drain the water and dry the potatoes thoroughly on paper towels. It is very important to remove all excess moisture from the potatoes. Because when it comes into contact with hot oil, the oil will start to shoot and splash your entire kitchen.
STEP 5
In a small diameter Teflon frying pan with a thick bottom or in a saucepan over medium (or above medium) heat, heat the vegetable oil with a pinch of salt. There should be enough oil to completely cover the potato slices. Place some of the potatoes and fry, turning occasionally with a slotted spoon, until a golden crust appears on them.
STEP 6
Place the finished potatoes on paper towels to remove excess fat. Taste the fries and add salt if necessary. The salt that was in the pan was enough for me.
STEP 7
Serve immediately while the potatoes are hot. With any sauces. Bon appetit!
