Forshmak from herring

A delicious herring appetizer that tastes especially good with a slice of white bread! Today I was visiting, I tried Jewish food for the first time. I really liked the classic Jewish forshmak, and I couldn’t help but ask the hostess for the recipe for this delicious snack. I made mincemeat from herring at home, everyone liked it, try it too.

How to prepare mincemeat: To implement this culinary recipe, you need to boil an egg and a small carrot. Wash the fish thoroughly, clean it, fillet it, removing bones and skin.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Lightly salted herring fillet

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

    boiled and peeled carrots

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    peeled chicken egg

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

processed cheese (in my subjective opinion, it’s better to take “Druzhba”)

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

    Frozen butter

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

beat with a blender until smooth. If for some reason you don’t have a blender, then you can pass all the ingredients twice through a regular meat grinder with a fine mesh.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

The best way to eat forshmak from herring is spread on a piece of toasted white bread. And although this appetizer is considered to be food of Jewish cuisine, I think that it will be appreciated by other nationalities for its tenderness and taste.

Oh yes, it's delicious! I used to know this recipe from an employee (by the way, she stuffs profiteroles with it for the holidays, and it’s delicious), today I’m going to cook such mincemeat, so I dropped by to visit you so as not to forget anything. I'll stuff pancakes with it.

This is a real classic mincemeat. I ate at a party a long time ago. It was incredibly tasty. I don’t remember about the carrots, but the butter and processed cheese (Druzhba) were definitely there. An interesting idea about pancakes and profiteroles. I'm putting it in the book
