Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients according to the list. Sift wheat flour into a deep bowl. This must be done even for preparing flatbreads, firstly, to avoid various kinds of impurities and debris getting into the dough with flour, and secondly, the flour must be saturated with oxygen to make the flatbreads softer.
STEP 2

Add salt to a bowl with flour and pour in vegetable oil and water. Mix first with a spoon directly in the bowl.
STEP 3

Then place the sticky mass on a floured work surface and continue kneading the dough with your hands. The dough should be smooth and elastic, put it back in the bowl, cover with cling film and leave on the table for 15 minutes. If desired, while the dough is resting, you can prepare the greens for the filling. I made simple flatbreads, without filling.
STEP 4

Divide the “rested” dough into several pieces depending on the desired number and size of the prepared cakes. Roll out each piece of dough on a floured table into a thin round layer.
STEP 5

To make the cakes more beautiful and even, they can be cut into plates.
STEP 6

The flatbreads can be fried in a dry frying pan or in vegetable oil, depending on your taste preferences. In the first case, they will turn out drier and crispier, but they can be greased with butter while hot for greater softness and a pleasant aroma, and in the second case, the flatbreads will be soft and rosy.
STEP 7

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, fry the flatbreads in hot oil over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. If the dough on the scones begins to swell, you can make a few punctures with a fork.
STEP 8
