  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make flatbreads from water and flour in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Sift the flour through a sieve. This will not only help get rid of possible debris, but will also saturate the flour with oxygen, making the finished cakes more tender. It is advisable to choose fine salt. Read about the properties of flour in the article at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Add salt to the water and stir with a tablespoon until the salt crystals are completely dissolved. Add salted water to the sifted flour and knead into a homogeneous, fairly soft dough. Be prepared for the fact that you may need a little more or a little less flour than the specified amount. Cover it with a clean towel and set it aside for 15-20 minutes. The dough will become significantly more plastic, and it will be easier to work with it in the future.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll each part into a round layer with a diameter of approximately 15 cm. You can cut out a perfectly even circle using a flat plate of a suitable size. Or you can leave the cakes slightly irregular in shape.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Heat a dry frying pan thoroughly. Place the rolled out dough in the pan and fry for 30-45 seconds over high heat until lightly charred. Flip the tortilla over and fry the other side. The cake may swell from the inside. Fry until small dark spots appear on the other side as well. For how to choose a frying pan, read the article below the steps.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cool the finished cakes separately so that the dough does not become soggy from condensation. Ideally, ready-made hot cakes should be served immediately. You can stack them and cover the cooled flatbreads with a lid or bag to keep them from drying out if you plan to serve them a little later. Bon appetit!

I saw a video on the website for a recipe for flatbread made with water, but with the addition of an egg. These flatbreads can be used instead of bread, or you can wrap different fillings in them. Makes great sandwiches for a snack.

Flatbread made from water and flour in a frying pan - a dish that couldn’t be simpler! My flatbreads puffed up greatly during cooking and looked like pitas, hollow inside (these can be filled with any thick filling). But I wanted them flat and thin, so I started pricking them with a fork before frying. It turned out very well! My flatbreads have a neutral taste, very reminiscent of lavash, and can be eaten instead of bread, with any sauce or sweet topping. Thanks for the recipe!
