In order to make stewed duck with cabbage, I first trimmed the fat from the duck and rendered it down to the cracklings. Then I fried portioned pieces of poultry for 20 minutes. In another frying pan, I fried the onion until golden brown, added fresh cabbage and simmered under the lid until the cabbage was soft, adding some water. Then I added sauerkraut and tomato paste diluted with water and simmered for about 30 minutes. Place the fried duck in a frying pan with cabbage and simmer for an hour. The only spice I added was salt. The dish turned out aromatic, and the sauerkraut gave the dish a slight sourness. Stewed duck with cabbage is suitable for lunch and dinner. Very tasty and filling.
