Curd sticks fried in oil in a frying pan

STEP 1

How to make cottage cheese sticks? Prepare your ingredients. Choose good quality cottage cheese, without milk fat substitutes. Fat content can be any. Keep in mind that the higher the fat percentage, the more caloric the dish becomes.
STEP 2

Combine the egg with sugar and vanilla sugar. Whisk everything together.
STEP 3

Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve. This will get rid of lumps, and the cottage cheese will become tender and homogeneous. Instead of a sieve, you can punch the cottage cheese with an immersion blender. Add the cottage cheese to the beaten eggs and mix.
STEP 4

Sift the flour and pour into a bowl with the curd mass. It is better to add flour in two or three additions in order to be able to adjust its amount up or down depending on the moisture content of the cottage cheese and the properties of the flour. Knead into a sticky, homogeneous dough.
STEP 5

Roll out the prepared dough into ropes on a floured work surface.
STEP 6

Cut the rope into small equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into equal sized sticks.
STEP 7

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan. Fry the curd sticks in hot oil until golden brown. Fry them in small batches so that the sticks float freely in the saucepan. Remove the finished sticks from the fryer with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb excess fat.
STEP 8

Place the cottage cheese sticks on a plate, sprinkle with powdered sugar and garnish with mint. Bon appetit!
