Cucumber slices

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make cucumber slices for the winter? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. For such a salad, you don’t need to select beautiful cucumbers; cucumbers of different sizes, uneven, will do, because we will still be cutting them into slices.
STEP 2

Rinse the cucumbers thoroughly in running water. Place them in a large container (I put them in a basin) and fill them with cold water. Leave it like this for a couple of hours. This is necessary to replenish the moisture lost in vegetables after they are picked from the bush.
STEP 3

Onions give cucumbers a wonderful flavor, so add one large onion to the salad. Peel the onions and cut into half rings.
STEP 4

Peel the garlic and chop finely. Wash fresh young dill in running water, dry and finely chop with a knife.
STEP 5

After the specified time, drain the water from the cucumbers and rinse them again under running water. Let the water drain well. Cut the cucumbers into slices, lengthwise or crosswise, as you like. Place the cucumber slices in a large container, you can take a large plastic or glass salad bowl, the main thing is not to use oxidizing dishes.
STEP 6

Add onion, garlic, dill, sugar, salt, black peppercorns, vinegar and vegetable oil to the cucumbers. Mix the salad thoroughly, cover the container with a plate and leave at room temperature for 1.5 hours. During this time, you need to stir the cucumber salad several times.
STEP 7

Meanwhile, prepare the jars. Small jars, 0.5 liters will be enough, rinse with soda under running water, also wash the lids. Place the jars (necessarily wet) with the neck down in a cold oven. Turn on the oven at 150 degrees and leave the jars to sterilize for 15 minutes. Boil the lids on the stove in a saucepan with water and dry.
STEP 8

Place cucumbers in slices with onions in jars, pour in the rest of the marinade from the bowl. Cover the jars with cucumbers with a lid and place in a saucepan with water (the water should reach almost to the shoulders) and a cloth at the bottom. Turn on the heat and sterilize the jars with the workpiece after boiling for about 15 minutes. Then immediately roll up the jars and let cool at room temperature, upside down under a blanket. Store the salad in a cool place until winter. Bon appetit
