The cookies look amazing, and judging by the ingredients, the taste probably is too. I really love the aroma of coffee in baked goods, I really want to bake them, but I’m confused by the presence of vodka in the recipe, is it possible for children to have these cookies?

You don’t have to put vodka. Alcohol is needed to dissolve vanillin. If you add vanilla sugar, then nothing else is needed. The taste is, of course, wonderful. You can add a little more sugar and less coffee, then it will be sweeter for the child. Or you can skip the coffee altogether. In general, the cookies are very reminiscent of chocolate. Coffee adds a slight bitterness. Whatever your child likes, put it in.

So vodka is only needed to dissolve vanillin?! Let's take it into account. I will try it today, but I will divide the dough into 2 “pieces”. One for a child without vodka and less coffee, and the other for adults according to the recipe, but also without vodka and I want to try adding a little cognac for flavor. Let's see what happens...And they look amazing.

Vanillin can be dissolved not in vodka, but simply by boiling with water and sugar. Such a simple recipe. But what an original design!

Yes, of course you can do without vodka. But why does it cause so much controversy? Alcohol evaporates during boiling or baking. Not only is there no taste, but also no smell. I often cook meat with wine. There is a smell there in the first minutes, and then the wine turns into vinegar and the meat softens. Of course, this is my personal opinion, but vodka is included in the original recipe. And then you can make your own variations.

What an interesting and delicious recipe! I love coffee cookies! About vodka: the boiling point of ethanol is 78.3°C. For 15 minutes of baking at 180-200°C from 1 tsp. there will be nothing left of vodka. So you can safely treat the children and get behind the wheel.
