Cookies Chestnuts

Delicious cookies for true sweet tooths! The cookies turn out very crumbly. It is very easy to prepare, and there are a lot of design options. Instead of dark chocolate, the glaze can be made with milk or even white chocolate, only then it is better to reduce the amount of sugar in the cookies themselves, otherwise it will be too sweet. For sprinkling, you can use not only nuts, but also coconut flakes or crumbled waffles. Help yourself!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Carefully pound the boiled egg yolks with a fork or grate them on a fine grater.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add sugar to the yolks and mix thoroughly.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add the sifted flour and mix everything together again, we need the yolks to be evenly distributed in the dough. Since everyone’s flour is different, it is better not to add the entire amount of flour to the dough at once, leave a couple of tablespoons of flour in reserve and after adding butter, if necessary, add flour to the dough.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Add melted butter.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

And knead the soft dough. There is no need to knead the dough, just combine all the ingredients into a soft, homogeneous lump.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Pinch off a piece from the dough, insert a nut and roll it into a ball the size of a small walnut.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 180 C for about 20 minutes until golden brown. The cookies bake quickly, so keep an eye on the oven after 15 minutes so that the cookies don’t get too burnt :)

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

While the cookies are baking, let's make the glaze. To do this, melt the chocolate with butter. Grind the nuts until crumbly.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Dip the finished cookies into the chocolate glaze and let the excess chocolate drip off.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

    And roll in chopped nuts.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Our cookies are ready, you can make tea! Bon appetit!

I had seen recipes for cookies with boiled yolks before, but somehow I didn’t understand how to use boiled eggs instead of raw ones) I decided to try to cook them. I grated the yolks on a coarse grater, mashed them with sugar, but I already had softened butter, so I didn’t melt it and mixed it in as is. The dough kneaded very quickly. I got 17 balls, 30 g each. Bake for 25 minutes until browned. The dough did not stick to the glass pan at all. For the glaze I used cognac-flavored dark chocolate and butter. I had to make another half batch of glaze; there wasn’t enough. I probably “bathed” the cookies in it too thoroughly) For sprinkling I used chopped walnuts, ground cookies and coconut flakes. The easiest way for coating is to pour nuts (chips, cookies) into a small bag, put a chocolate ball in it and shake. I found this out experimentally) I put the products in the refrigerator until the glaze hardened. It turned out just gorgeous cookies! It is crumbly, you can’t feel the boiled yolks at all. And combined with chocolate coating and sprinkles it’s absolutely amazing. Now I realized that these cookies are even tastier than simple shortbread cookies. I will cook it again!

AMALIYA-MAMA, even without glaze the cookies turn out delicious, the glaze here is more for adding a slight bitterness and as glue so that the nuts and shavings can stick to the cookies.

What beautiful cookies you turned out! and the name of the cookies - chestnuts - is beautiful! although they don’t look much like chestnuts)) but shortbread is my primary weakness! I can’t help it! Irisha. Tell me, if you leave it without this chocolate glaze, it won’t be very tasty? Or can you still eat it this way? you can also do it like this

My favorite cookie, a forgotten recipe! I'll definitely cook it! And instead of glaze, you can roll slightly cooled cookies in cocoa mixed with powdered sugar.
