    How to make a classic crab salad? Take a steamed variety of rice and sort it, removing impurities. I used medium grain, but you can use any. Rinse. Pour boiling water into the pan at a ratio of 2 to 1. Cook until tender. Read the cooking time on the package (about 20-25 minutes). It is important not to overcook the rice. It should be soft and crumbly. Drain in a colander and rinse with boiled water. Let the liquid drain. Cool and transfer to a deep salad bowl.

    Hard boil the eggs (about 8-10 minutes after boiling). Fill with cold water and cool. Peel off the shell. Cut into small cubes. Add to rice.

    Wash fresh cucumbers. Dry them with paper towels. The peel, if it is not damaged, hard or bitter, does not need to be cut off. Cut them into small cubes as well. Add to bowl with rice and eggs.

    If the crab sticks you are using are frozen, defrost them. Without removing the packaging, place them on a cutting board and let them thaw. Remove the cellophane wrapper from the thawed sticks. If it doesn't unwind well, hold the sticks over the steam for 1-3 seconds. Cut into the same small cubes. The salad will look beautiful and neat if you cut all the ingredients the same way. Add crab sticks to the salad bowl.

    Open a can of canned corn. Place it in a colander and let the liquid drain. Place in a salad bowl with the rest of the ingredients. How to buy canned corn correctly? Be sure to look at the expiration date on the can. If the container is glass, carefully examine the grains. They should be the same size and color, whole and without spots. The composition should not contain dyes, preservatives or flavor enhancers.

    In a separate small container, mix sour cream and mayonnaise in equal proportions. Add salt to taste. Add ground black pepper if desired. Season the salad with this sauce.

    Mix all ingredients well. You can serve the dish in a common salad bowl or portioned bowls. Or use a cooking ring. Place it on a suitable flat plate. Place the salad in it. Lightly tamp it down with a spoon. Carefully remove the ring. Garnish with a sprig of dill or parsley. This makes it look more elegant and neat.

I cooked it exactly as stated in the recipe. My rice is long-grain steamed; it doesn’t get overcooked and doesn’t turn into porridge in a salad. To cool the finished rice faster, I washed it with cold boiled water. During this time I managed to boil and cut the eggs. I also chopped crab sticks and cucumbers. I used sweet corn; it complements the taste of the whole salad well. I tried the salad and realized that there was not enough salt, so I added salt to taste. And freshly ground pepper has already been added to the dressing. The salad is tender and tasty, there are both sweet and savory notes. Fresh, juicy cucumber fits perfectly into this company).

Salad from my childhood! I was ready to eat only it and in unlimited quantities! I don’t know why, but my mother got the recipe without cucumbers! That’s why I didn’t include them this time either!
