  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make chicken in a jar in your own juice? First of all, prepare all the necessary products. If you have a frozen carcass, then you should first defrost it at room temperature. If you have a fresh chicken, then pluck it, remove the entrails, and burn off the excess fluff. Wash the chicken and dry with paper towels.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the bird into small portions.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add salt to taste and ground pepper to the meat. I added a little ground smoked paprika (to brighten the color of the chicken) and 1 tbsp. vegetable oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Mix everything thoroughly, place the pieces in a food container or plastic bag to marinate. Leave in the refrigerator for at least an hour, up to a day. The longer the chicken marinates, the tastier the dish will be.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the onions and garlic. Rinse and dry.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cut the onion into thin half rings or rings. Leave the garlic cloves whole or cut them into 2-4 pieces lengthwise. The amount of garlic can be adjusted to taste.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Wash the jar and dry with a towel. The jar must be dry, this is very important. Place some onion rings, a bay leaf, a few peppercorns and a little garlic on the bottom. For flavor, you can add a sprig of parsley, dill or basil.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place chicken in a single layer.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Next, repeat the layer with onions, peppers, garlic and herbs.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Make the chicken next. And so on until the products run out. Add a final layer of onion and garlic rings.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place a foil lid on top of the jar.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Use a toothpick to make several holes in the foil.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Place the jar in a cold oven. If the jar is placed in a heated oven, it may burst. Set the temperature to 180 to 200 degrees and leave to bake for one hour.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

At the end of cooking, turn off the oven and open the door slightly so that the jar gradually cools.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Remove the slightly cooled jar from the oven, be careful not to burn yourself!

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Serve the chicken hot as a separate dish, garnished with fresh herbs.

I was very interested in the recipe for chicken in a jar in its own juice. I have never cooked chicken like this before. I had six chicken legs (total weight about 800 grams), and I took them for this recipe. As for spices, in addition to salt and pepper, I also added paprika. I marinated the legs for about 1.5 hours. I took a jar with a volume of 800 ml. All six legs fit perfectly into it. In addition to the usual peppercorns, I added a couple more allspice peas. I cooked the chicken in its own juice for 1 hour, as written in the recipe. While the chicken was baking, there were such smells in the apartment that it made your mouth water. The resulting chicken legs were very soft, tender, and juicy. The meat comes off the bone perfectly. Besides everything else, it turned out very fragrant. I will use this recipe again, I really liked it! Zhemchuzhina, thank you very much!
