Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make chili chicken? Take all the necessary ingredients. You can take any parts of the bird. I took the thighs, with them the dish will be more juicy. Take any odorless vegetable oil. The amount of chili pepper can be adjusted depending on the level of spiciness you want to achieve.
STEP 2
In a small container, mix spices: coriander, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, chopped cloves. These spices sound good in the finished dish, but you can substitute others.
STEP 3
Wash the chicken, dry it, cut it into small pieces with a sharp knife.
STEP 4
Pour vinegar over the chicken and add salt. Add the spice mixture and mix well.
STEP 5
Cover the chicken with cling film and leave to marinate for 20 minutes.
STEP 6
Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and add the chicken pieces. Fry until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Then reduce the heat and continue cooking the chicken until tender.
STEP 7
Cut the pre-peeled and washed onions into thin half rings. Peel the garlic, chop with a press, on a fine grater or finely chop with a knife.
STEP 8
Wash two types of peppers, remove seeds and stems. Cut the bell pepper into medium pieces, the chili pepper into finer pieces. Wear gloves when handling chili peppers, as they can burn your hands.
STEP 9
Transfer the chicken from the pan to another dish. In the remaining spicy juice from the chicken, fry the prepared onions and garlic over moderate heat, adding a little vegetable oil and mustard seeds. Don't forget to stir so the onion doesn't burn.
STEP 10
When the onion becomes soft, add the washed and chopped tomato into small pieces and stir. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
STEP 11
Place chili peppers and bell peppers in the pan and stir. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
STEP 12
Combine the spicy mixture with the chicken and stir.
STEP 13
Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
STEP 14
Serve the chili chicken hot with any side dish such as rice, pasta or potatoes. Bon appetit!
