Cherry jam with agar agar

The most aromatic, gelled, seedless! Cherry jam with agar-agar (a plant analogue of gelatin) retains more benefits than the same jam with just sugar. Agar allows you to cook berries in less time, preserving vitamins that are destroyed by prolonged cooking.

    STEP 1

How to cook cherry jam with agar agar? Prepare everything you need. It is better to take fresh cherries. Wash it first under running water and remove the seeds. I use frozen cherries that I have previously thawed. Please note that agar-agar may have different gelling strengths! To achieve ideal results, follow the instructions on the packaging of your specific agar agar. The ingredients are indicated with a small margin for boiling.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place the cherries in a thick-walled saucepan and add sugar. Over low heat, stirring constantly, bring the berries to a boil. Cook the cherries for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved. If too much foam forms, it should be removed with a slotted spoon or spoon.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

During this time we will prepare the jars. They need to be washed first. I will have only one 0.5 liter jar. So, pour a centimeter of filtered water into the jars and heat in the microwave for 3 minutes. The water should boil. Thus, the jars are considered sterilized. Simply fill the lids with boiling water and leave until needed.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Dilute agar-agar in warm water, stir until smooth.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

While stirring the jam, pour water and agar into the saucepan. And cook for another 3 minutes. Visually, nothing will change much, because... The agar will begin to act a little later.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour hot jam into jars and seal with lids. When turned upside down, wrap the jars with a warm blanket until they cool completely. After which the cherry jam with agar-agar can be stored.

I've made jam many times, but I've never seen it with gelatin or agar. I liked the recipe “Cherry jam with agar-agar”. There are a lot of cherries, you need to try them) especially since everything is at hand. Everything is extremely simple. The longest thing is to remove the pits from the cherries) sugar is the ideal proportion. I cooked the cherries, stirring, for about 15 minutes. Added agar and boiled. Transferred it to jars. I rolled up wonderful jelly cherry jam with a natural thickener. The result was aromatic, appetizing jam with whole berries and jelly syrup! Good recipe! Thank you)
